While the annual VCIA holiday mixer is a calendar regular, this year we mixed it up and headed to the Burlington Beer Company south of town. What a great meeting space with some great catering! Having 8 different taps open certainly did not disappoint those in the mood for a beer. About 90 attendees enjoyed meeting with friends old and new, and it was great to see so many members bringing along younger and newer colleagues. A number of people drove or flew in for the event, and I am always impressed that we can also draw a crowd from a distance into the dark and wintry welcome that Vermont puts out at this time of the year.
We are also able to conduct some VCIA business with those present. We gave notice of our new brand and website reveal event, being held virtually on 01/15/2025. This will mark one of the first implementation items from the recent strategic planning exercise conducted by the VCIA Board. We are really looking forwards to being able to share this bold new look and feel for the VCIA! Please watch for sign up details early in the new year. There’s further incentive: a VCIA member will be eligible to win half-off a conference pass during the brand reveal!
Then, just a week after that comes our 2025 Legislative Day, registration is already available. For those there in person, as well as virtually, we will be offering from 10:30 – 11:30 that day an open VCIA Board session on the state of the industry in Vermont with presentations from stakeholders such as our federal and state advocates, representatives from the DFR and the VCIA Board.
