A concerted effort to strengthen the Vermont captive workforce
Established in 2023, VCIEL collaborates with Vermont colleges and captive service providers in order to reach students and young professionals, directing them to one of the state's best kept secrets: an industry, with 400+ high paying jobs, that continues to grow.
School Outreach
VCIEL provides in-class presentations (not only to college students, but also to high schoolers!) on the basics of captive insurance and the many different career paths that come with it.

Community Support
VCIEL realizes it's not just about opening the door but keeping younger talent "in the room." To that end VCIEL is a platform for new or young captive professionals to stay connected and develop their skills and captive acumen.
The entire captive industry wants to see young professionals succeed, and VCIEL is an initiative formed to build a community where you strengthen your leadership skills
VCIEL Student Sponsorship to the Annual VCIA Conference
The best way to experience the dynamics of the captive industry - and to discover the right captive career path for you - is by participating in VCIA's annual conference held every August.
VCIEL has created a unique sponsorship program for captive companies to sponsor students eager to learn about the industry and how they might fit in it. Even if you don't receive a sponsorship, inquire within for student and faculty rates.

Engaging with professionals from various backgrounds created an atmosphere where my curiosity was rewarded with thoughtful answers. The panel discussions were a highlight, deepening my understanding of the strategic power captives hold. I am excited to move forward as I learn more about the transition in thought and practice regarding self-managed risk. "
